Rs 122 crore for NHs in Assam in last two years

GUWAHATI, Dec 16: In a written reply to an unstarred question of the Rajya Sabha by AGP MP Birendra Prasad Baishya, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways RPN Singh said the 11th Plan outlay for improvement of National Highways has not been made State-wise. However, an allocation of Rs 176.21 crore was made during the last two years of the 11th Plan and Rs 122.04 crore was made during the current year for Assam for its improvement of National Highways under NH(O), a press release stated.

The minister also said a Plan covering 21 works for sanctioning during 2009-10 at the estimated cost of Rs 369 crore has been prepared by the Ministry of Assam under NH(O), out of which 11 works amounting to Rs 202 crore have already been sanctioned and seven works are under consideration of the Ministry as per the following list: THE SENTINEL
