Ranjan Daimary condemned, effigy burned

GUWAHATI, Oct 30: With the rest of the State, the Assam Public Works (APW) also observed black October 30 by conducting a blood donation camp at the Guwahati Last Gate today. More than 50 people came forward to donate blood.

Also present at the occasion, veteran journalist DN Chakravarty condemned terrorist activities and said Ranjan Daimary and Paresh Barua should be punished in public. He also questioned the Armed Forces on their failure to nab terrorists from the region.

The APW members also lighted lamps in memory of those killed last year. NDFB chief Ranjan Daimary’s effigy was also burned to put across a strong message against dartardly acts of violence and bloodshed.

APW president Abhijit Sarma said terrorism cannot bring us freedom and termed Ranjan Daimary and Paresh Barua as ‘extension officers of terrorism’ and ‘agents’ of the ISI and DGFI. The Tinsukia committee of APW also organized a blood donation camp at the Tinsukia Civil Hospital today with more than 100 people voluntarily donating blood for the noble cause. THE SENTINEL
