Four militants nabbed by Army in Lakhipur

SILCHAR, Oct 28: Jawans of the 11 Field Regiment (Red Shield Division) of the Indian Army, after receiving a tip off, arrested four militants from Chiri bridge on NH-53 near Fulertal area under Lakhipur subdivision recently.

One of the arrested militants have been identified as KH Gyaneshwar Singh (32), of Bishenpur district, Manipur. Army sources said that he was a second lieutenant (over ground worker 1015) PLA cadre. An Aircel sim card and a mobile phone was recovered from him. Military sources also confirmed that he was a dreaded PLA cadre and had previous records of arrests in Manipur.

The other three militants were reported to be UNLF cadres and hail from Lakhipur subdivision, Cachar district. They have been identified as Nilot Chandra Sinha (40) of Nayagram, Thomba Sinha (32) of Kunjenleikai and K Premjit Sinha alias Ranjit of Orabil under Lakhipur police station. The four militants arrested by the Army have been handed over to Lakhipur police station, sources said. THE SENTINEL
