CM directs monitoring of all Centrally-sponsored projects

ITANAGAR, Dec 18: With the ambitious ‘PM Package’ taking center-stage for accelerated development of Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu today stressed on regular district-level and block-level monitoring of projects under it as well as all other Centrally-sponsored schemes. This, he said, is necessary to ensure judicious utilization of all development funds.

Khandu was chairing a high-level conference with all deputy commissioners and PWD officers at his office here today.

“All DCs have to chalk out comprehensive plans to speed up land acquisition for the Trans-Arunachal Highway besides lands for setting up new Army Divisions and Brigades in select districts,” he said.

Expressing concern over illegal entry of migrants into the State, Khandu directed the district heads to keep extra vigil in the entry points for containing illegal immigrants and revenue leakages. He said, vigil on all entry points would also enhance revenue collection in the form of royalty through VAT.

While putting the onus of streamlining of PDS in the district upon the DCs, the Chief Minister directed them to conduct surprise visits to fair price shops and ensure sufficient supply of ration to the common people.

In order to bring the administration to doorsteps of the people, Khandu suggested the DCs to hold administrative camps in remote villages for a day or two. This will not only benefit the rural people but will also strengthen the confidence of the people on the administration, he said.

Chief Engineer Bora Ete, entrusted with the charge of the Trans-Arunachal Highway explained in detail its status. He informed that altogether 4 projects had been floated for tender till date.

Chief Secretary Tabom Bam, Principal Secretary to CM Yeshi Tsering, Development Commissioner V K Dev and Planning Secretary Ankur Garg were also present in the meeting. THE SENTINEL
