Dalai Lama’s visit a strong statement against China: Takam Sanjoy

ITANAGAR, Nov 13: One of the most vociferous in the corridors of Parliament against the Chinese claims on Arunachal Pradesh, Lok Sabha MP Takam Sanjoy today hailed the ongoing visit of the Dalai Lama as a strong statement against it.

“We are thankful to the Dalai Lama for visiting the State that makes a strong statement to China against its claims on our land,” Sanjoy told a media conference a day before the Dalai Lama is scheduled to visit the State capital.

Coming down heavily on the Chinese statements and the hype created by it on the visits of the Prime Minister, the Dalai Lama and other VIPs to the State, Sanjoy said that every inch of Arunachal Pradesh belongs to India and the Dalai Lama’s visit has vindicated it.

In a recent meeting of the standing committee attached to the Ministry of External Affairs chaired by Sushma Swaraj, Sanjoy categorically told Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and the members that terming the China-India border dispute a complex one was a confusing statement of the Centre.  “Arunachal Pradesh has well-defined territory of all the tribes and nobody can encroach upon it,” he declared.
