Two PULF cadres nabbed by Army

SILCHAR, Sept 9: Troops of the 11 Field Regiment (Red Shield Division) based at Labak, Pailapool in Cachar, carried out a search operation last night at the houses of two suspected PULF (People’s United Liberation Front) militants at Kachudaram. The cadres have been taken into custody who have been identified as Saidul (34), son of Abdul Ahmed and Samein Hussain (22), son of Hafiz Ali Laskar of Badabawure village under Kachudaram police station in Cachar. However, no arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession except three pairs of combat dresses and a sharp weapon. After interrogation, both of them were handed over to Kachudaram police outpost under Sonai. Of late, PULF has again become active with support from the Meitei insurgent outfit PLA and ISI of Pakistan, sources said. THE SENTINEL
