SBI launches e-centre in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, Sept 2 – Spreading its wings in Nagaland, the State Bank of India introduced its first e-banking cum multiple ATM in the State. The bank is also going to open its 50th branch in the State in the near future. With the opening of three more ATMs, the total number in Nagaland has reached 21.

With more and more people opting for banking facilities in the State, the SBI has opened its first internet banking (also referred to as e-banking) centre in the State in Dimapur. The bank, which has seen rapid growth since its inception in the State in 1963, now has 49 branches across the State equipped with core banking facility.

The opening of the e-banking centre is another milestone for the bank. General Manager (NW-II) SBI, R N Mehra opened the e-Centre at Dimapur.

Mehra also said that the 50th SBI Branch would be opened at the Nagaland University campus at Lumami at the earliest. He also cautioned all concerned not to fall prey to fake awards through emails and SMS. ASSAM TRIBUNE
