Tehelka photos have proven fake killings

IMPHAL, Aug 29: The Joint Action Committee formed against the Killing of Ch Sanjit, Khurai has said that no judicial enquiry is required as expose of the Tahelka have revealed all the factual evidence of the July 23 Khairamband firing incident.

Briefing media persons today at the resident of late Sanjit, Khurai, the convener of the JAC Anita, asserted that the Judicial Enquiry as announced by the State government does not carry any meaning as the Tehelka have shown the real picture of the July 23 encounter.

The Tahelka have shown how Sanjit was killed by the police commandos on that ill fated day, Anita said adding there is nothing the government can do to punish police commandos involved in the incident by time consuming judicial inquiry.

The Government was trying to hold down the issue calmly, said Anita and held that the JAC would not remain as a silent spectator. She further revealed that if the Government thinks that what Tehelka have shown to the public was worthless then the JAC would speak to the Tehelka and not to the Government.

The JAC further demands termination of Police Commandos who were involved in the July 23 firing incident and also action against the superior police officials including the state DGP and senior SP.

She also said that three members of the JAC are being summoned by the SDPO Imphal west to appear before the police station on August 27. (Agencies)
